Perez has been linked with Villarreal as their coach Marcelino's contract runs down this season.
"I found out about Villarreal because one of my players joked about it, and I got really angry," he admitted.
The Navarrese coach wants no distractions in the decisive stretch of the season and prioritises the team's objective over his contractual situation.
"It's not appropriate to talk about the Rayo Vallecano coach now, nor about any player. Individual positions take a back seat to the collective," he stated.
Pérez insists that now is not the time for public negotiations. The coach maintains that he will always give the same answer to these questions and makes his commitment to Rayo Vallecano clear: "When I have to talk about my future, I will do so for as long as necessary."
