While no official word has been released, there is now a belief that Marcelino will leave the Yellow Submarine when his contract expires at the end of the season.

As such, Villarreal are now covering their bases in the event Marcelino departs.
Estadio Deportivo says there are currently five coaches listed as possible replacements for the Asturian manager.
The list is headed by Madrid native Míchel Sánchez (Girona, 50 years old), but there is also room for other coaches as diverse as Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth, 43), Imanol Alguacil (unattached, 54), Iñigo Pérez (Rayo Vallecano, 38), and Ernesto Valverde (Athletic Club, 62).
