Alonso explains Caicedo and Palestra absences against Fulham

The absence of the pair surprised supporters ahead of Alonso’s first competitive game in charge of the Blues. 

Speaking to the media before the match, the former Real Madrid tactician confirmed that both players were unavailable because of late fitness issues. 

"They had minor setbacks during the week, so they were not fit to play tonight. New faces debut for us, Morgan and Max, and they are going to play important roles through the year," Alonso said.
