Last week Leeds’ first offer fell short of Chelsea‘s expectations as per reports which stated that the Yorkshire side did not match the finances necessary to make the switch happen.
Signed by Chelsea in January 2023, Mudryk was suspended for four years in November 2024 after a drug test found meldonium in his system.
He was provisionally suspended in December 2024, formally charged by the FA in May 2025, and an independent commission imposed a four-year period of ineligibility in January 2026 as the winger appealed the decision.
Since then, the FA confirmed on 31 July 2026 that he was immediately eligible to train and play again because WADA's technical standards for meldonium had changed.
Mudryk, 25, is training away from the first-team group and is expected to depart before the summer window shuts in just over a weeks time.
Leeds are seeking a new left-sided attacking option before the end of the window and are currently the only side interested in Mudryk who Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso revealed earlier this summer will not be rushed out of the side.
“We will see. We still have time to decide, and we don't have to rush on many decisions and at the right time we will take them, at the moment not yet,” he told The Standard.
Mudryk made his Chelsea comeback in the Blues' pre-season friendly against Juventus in Hong Kong earlier this month but has little chance of making an impact in any of the club’s opening games before the window closes.
Leeds next face Brentford on Sunday afternoon and manager Daniel Farke will hope to have the Mudryk deal completed by then as he searches for more attacking options.
