"What bothered me were the false stories that came out compared to what actually happened. I can't do anything about that. The most important thing is that in the locker room, we're cool, we're relaxed," Tchouaméni told L'Équipe.
Reflecting on a lesson he learned from the incident, he explained: "No matter what happens in your life, the problem is never as big as you think it is."
"Like everything, today people talk about this, tomorrow they'll talk about something else. You just have to get through the two or three days when there's a buzz.
"This story got so big that for the first two or three days, it felt like it would never end. But actually, after two or three days, someone says something crazy or another story comes up and you move on," said the player, who feels he has reached another level at Real Madrid this season.
The Frenchman confirmed he has spoken again with Valverde since then: "We trained together. We haven't played together again, though, because for the last La Liga match, I had a muscle issue."
And there's no question of new tensions arising if France and Uruguay meet in the semifinals: "But people really need to understand: there is no problem. A lot of things happen in a locker room. We shook hands when he came back and we keep working together."
