Los Blancos saw their dire season come to a crashing end on Sunday with a 2-0 defeat to Barcelona, who lifted the title with three games to spare.
Tensions are high at the Spanish side, with feuds between Federico Valverde and teammate Aurelien Tchouameni, whilst fans call for Kylian Mbappe to leave this summer.
Will Real Madrid bounce back next season?
Arbeloa has officially recorded the highest loss ratio for any Madrid manager with at least 20 matches in charge during the 21st century, with him losing 32% of his official fixtures, suffering 8 defeats in just 25 games overseen during his tenure.
Speaking after the game, he was asked about next season as fans try to forget what has been a dismal campaign.
"There isn't much we can say; we understand their frustration, their disappointment, and just how dissatisfied they must be with this season, all we can do is work hard and look to the future, learn from everything we've got wrong this year," Arbeloa said.
"Real Madrid always bounce back, we've fallen many times and got back up many times, but I understand the anger any Real Madrid fan might feel; we have to work to turn the situation around.
"We have a great squad; we can get a lot out of them. It hasn't been easy at all with everything that's happened over the last few months – many key players out. The club will always look to improve, but we have a squad of very good players that any team in Europe would want," Arbeloa said.
Mbappe was not called up for El Clasico as he failed a fitness test ahead of the clash, Arbeloa revealed that he would’ve liked to see the striker feature against Barcelona despite tensions with fans.
“There are two weeks left of the season, and we will have to see how he evolves from the discomfort to see if he can play or not. I would have liked it if he played, but he was not 100%.”
