The Tunisian FA have reportedly fired manager Sabri Lamouchi after their opening defeat to Sweden.

Already weakened by a heavy 5-0 defeat to Belgium in a warm-up friendly, Tunisia were ripped apart by Sweden in a 5-1 defeat in a game that looked more like men vs boys rather than a World Cup clash.

In total, Tunisia have conceded 10 goals in their last two matches and despite their next game against Japan on Sunday, the Tunisian FA have made the brutal decision to sack Lamouchi.

This comes from various reports including The Guardian and The New York Times as reports claim Lamouchi has been let go after a single game at this summer’s competition, his fifth in total with the national side.

The African side’s significantly inferior goal difference of –4 will seriously hinder their chances of progressing as one of the best third-placed teams, unless they can bounce back in the next two games.

Speaking after the match, Lamouchi said that the defeat was unpardonable: “It’s a tough defeat, it’s painful to start the competition with such a heavy loss.

"We made far too many mistakes and, with world-class players like the two Swedish forwards, that’s unforgivable."

According to Tunisian radio station Mosaique FM, a fight also broke out between Lamouchi's son and a supporter which does not bode well for Lamouchi whose time seems to be over at the World Cup after a single game.
