After 50 years of hurt, the 1966 champions head into the World Cup with the hopes that the Three Lions can bring football home this summer.
England are the top seeds in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama and are the favourites to progress to the next round under manager Thomas Tuchel who has just 11 days before his opening game.
Ahead of the tournament, seven-time Formula 1 world champion Hamilton revealed he will be backing Tuchel’s men as well as the Selecao who he has a soft spot for.
"For me, it's tied with England," Hamilton said, as quoted by Mirror.
"Honestly, Brazil has always been my favourite team. Growing up in England, I used to love watching Brazil play.
“I think it's the colours, the culture, and the players always just looked the most skilled, they were so cool.
"I just appreciate where they (Brazil) come from. Many of the players come from the streets where they play with no shoes and there's something quite special about Brazilian culture."
Brazil are the most successful team both in terms of World Cup titles, winning the competition a record five times whilst being the only team to have taken part in all 22 previous editions.
It is not unusual for supporters to support two separate teams heading into the World Cup and clearly Hamilton has a lot of respect for Brazil who will first face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland in Group C.
