Two goals from Harry Kane helped England to an eye-catching 4-2 victory over old foes Croatia as Caleb Yirenkyi's 95th minute goal snatched a 1-0 win for the Black Stars against Panama.
Victory for either team in Foxborough will cement their spot in the knockout stages as Thomas Tuchel comes up against the experienced figure of Carlos Queiroz at the Gillette Stadium.
73-year-old old Quieroz is in place at his fifth World Cup after previously managing his native Portugal and Iran on the world stage, after being appointed as Ghana boss in April.
Amongst Queiroz's backroom staff is Northern Irishman Mick McDermott - who has worked alongside him in several roles prior to Ghana - and the Belfast-born coach is confident the team will have no issue facing England's superstars.
"They have quality players firing on all cylinders and we know it's going to be a massive challenge but it's called the World Cup for a reason," he told BBC Sport.
"Our boys play for big clubs in big games. We're not overawed by playing England, the boys have belief and it depends how we show up. When the curtain opens you have to dance and I think the boys are more than capable of getting a result."
McDermott also highlighted Antoine Semenyo as the key man who could cause England some damage after ended the 2025/26 Premier League season with 17 goals.
"I've not been around someone as humble as him. In terms of his football talent, he's probably as explosive a player I've seen to go from a jog to full tilt, he's really powerful.
"He has the ability, if he's on his game, to hurt any full-back in the world, but we have five or six with that same pace and those are nice weapons to have."
