Another goal off the bench from Mikel Merino sealed a first semi final for Spain since winning the World Cup back in 2010 and Luis de la Fuente's defending European champions will now face France on July 14.
La Roja will be confident of throwing down a huge challenge to Didier Deschamps' rampant team who have been unstoppable so far in North America led by the talismanic Kylian Mbappe.
De la Fuente's squad will now rest and recover ahead of a trip to Texas and the experienced coach insisted it's France who will be concerned by facing his team.
"We are going to work to try to overcome France, but they will be just as worried, as we've shown we're the only team in the world capable of beating them in two consecutive matches."
De la Fuente's confidence is based on back-to-back wins over Les Bleus under his leadership, including a 2-1 victory in the UEFA Euro 2024 semis and a 5-4 thriller in last summer's Nations League, with Lamine Yamal scoring three goals across the two matches.
Spain have lost just one of their last four clashes with France - but this is their first World Cup meeting since 2006 - where Zinedine Zidane's 90th minute goal eliminated them at the last 16 stage as the French went on to lose the final to Italy with Zidane infamously sent off for a headbutt on Marco Materazzi.
