"I had other options on the table, but I immediately told my agent that I wanted to come to Fenerbahçe. I wanted to be part of a team that fights to win. I want to fight for the championship," he said.

"I already knew how big Fenerbahçe was. It's the biggest club in Turkey. Furthermore, the presence of a coach like José Mourinho, a true institution in world football, had a huge impact on my decision.

"Yes, I had alternatives, but I only wanted Fenerbahçe. I want to win, and I think I'm in the right place to achieve that."

Semedo has signed a deal with Fener to 2027.
