Having guided Inter to top of the Serie A table into the final of the Coppa Italia, Chivu is set to discuss new terms with Nerazzurri management.
Sky Italia's Gianluca di Marzio told TMW: "Chivu isn't a coach who's just sitting there, calling his agent Chiodi to say we need to renew our contract, we need to do three or four years.
"No, he's a coach who, from this point of view, leaves all these tasks to his assistants. It's certainly automatic that Chivu will receive a contract renewal so he doesn't leave next year when his contract expires.
"It's also automatic that he'll earn the kind of salary he's shown he can command. Last year he was definitely content with a young coach's contract. The salary will certainly be closer to that of the coaches he beat this year.
"Chivu has proven himself worthy, he's shown with his clarity of mind that he can lead a crazy Inter."
