Odegaard put the cherry on top of the cake just four minutes after half-time to give Arsenal a well-earned win.
Speaking to Match of the Day after the game, the 27-year-old made his side’s ambitions for this season clear.
"The perfect start. It's always good to start with a win. A win at home, three goals and a clean sheet. It was really solid."
On his comments about wanting to attack the title: "For sure that's the mindset. We don't feel we have to defend anything. We want to do it again and that's the mindset.
“Last year is finished now, we want to do it again and we want to attack it and fight for it again."
