Militao went down awkwardly against Alaves this week as he signalled to be taken off just before half time. He was quickly replaced by Antonio Rüdiger who helped the side secure a much needed 2-1 win.
He joins Guler, who was a surprise absence from training on Thursday, as he underwent medical tests including an MRI scan which revealed he has suffered the same hamstring problem as Militao.
The club confirmed both injuries on Thursday afternoon, with reports stating that the pair will be absent for the rest of the season.
Militao: “Following tests carried out today on our player Éder Militão by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg. Awaiting progress.”
Guler: “After the tests carried out today on our player Arda Güler by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his right leg. Pending evolution.”
Militao has struggled with injuries this season, featuring in just 16 LaLiga games and starting 14. His mind will be on the World Cup this summer as he attempts to remain fit ahead of Carlo Ancelotti's final squad announcement.
Both players will miss Real Madrid’s final games of the campaign against the likes of Real Madrid’s final two games of the season against the likes of Sevilla, Athletic Club and Barcelona and will be doubts for the World Cup which is now less than 50 days away.
