The Gunners face Wolves at Molineux as they attempt to establish a seven point lead over title chasers Manchester City in what is a much-needed victory.
A 94th-minute own goal sealed a 2-1 victory for Mikel Arteta’s side last time out as the North London side aim for a more dominant performance over a side who are dead bottom of the Premier League.
Captain Martin Odegaard completed 90 minutes at Brentford but was seen limping afterwards. It has now been revealed that he has suffered a knee injury and will miss the Wolves clash as confirmed by Arteta.
”For Wolves he is not going to be fit,” said Arteta. “But for Sunday we are very hopeful he can be with us.”
Elsewhere in midfield, Arsenal will be without Mikel Merino (Ankle/Foot) and Max Dowman (ankle, foot) as the side turn towards Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka to fill the gaps in Arteta’s starting eleven.
Finally, striker Kai Havertz (thigh) is also out after he picked up an issue against Sunderland on February 7th. Arteta issued an update on the German international in his press conference this week.
“Kai is another one for the weekend is a possibility, we're looking forward to having him in the squad.”
Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White should both be okay for the clash, despite worries after the win over Wigan in the FA Cup.
