Mayenda played a big part in Sunderland's promotion to the Premier League during the 2024/25 season. He scored the winner against Coventry City in the play-off semi-final, before netting the equaliser against Sheffield United in the play-off final win at Wembley.
The Spaniard scored twice in the Premier League last season, and will make the switch from the Stadium of Light to Rennes where he will play under Franck Haisse at Roazhon Park next season.
