Newcastle had two offers of £50m and £55m for the Norway striker turned down by Wolves. While Alexander Isak went on strike at Newcastle to force through his move to Liverpool, Strand Larsen left it up to the two clubs to handle negotiations.
"I don't have much to say about it," he said when asked about Isak going on strike. "We all have contracts, but at the same time it's important that clubs and players manage to have a proper dialogue.
"There's probably a lot that's promised when you get to clubs, and then the players think about it when they move on. Then there's a 'clash'.
"From our side, I think we did things right. The transfer came quite late in the window, and it's hard to say what would have happened if it had been earlier. But we resolved the situation well and had our heads in the right place."
After rejecting Newcastle's offers, Wolves then tabled and secured Strand Larsen to a new deal.
