After the 2-1 reverse, Frank took a swipe at fans whom had whistled and jeered goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario during the defeat. The Italy international was barracked by the home support after he was caught out for Fulham's second goal scored by Harry Wilson.
Asked about Frank's comments, Carr told Tribalfootball.com: "It’s difficult place to watch football at the minute. The fans do pay a lot of money to watch Spurs play at home and their record over the past couple of seasons really isn’t good enough. Over time it has created a negative experience which is a shame as it’s one of the best stadiums in the world.
"Last year Spurs suffered many defeats and this season , apart from the opening home game, they just haven’t been able to give the fans something to cheer about. To concede so quickly on Saturday wasn’t great, but for the fans to boo straight away is difficult. At the end of the game, if they aren’t happy, then sure, as a player you have to take it.
"For Thomas Frank, coming into a new environment, to a massive club like Spurs, he has shared an opinion of the negative reaction to the 2nd goal. Was it fair? He has a right to an opinion as he wants the crowd to be a 12th man and help his side, not the opposite effect."
Give him time
With Spurs languishing in 12th place on the Premier League table - and boasting just the one home win under Frank, the Dane's position has come under acute focus.
However, Carr insists Frank deserves more time and admits he has great confidence in the manager's ability to turn things around.
He said, "Yes, you have to give him time. As I mention, you are without 3 massively influential attacking players and that is difficult for Thomas Frank. He has spoken experience in playing great football, winning games and creating a top team spirit and team on the pitch as he showed during his time at Brentford.
"He is good in front of the media and comes across very well. He now needs to know his first XI and then create a system that can suit them and help to win games consistently which bides time and then with transfer windows coming up to add players who can get Spurs up the table and challenging for honours.
"I don’t think it will take long as Spurs won the Europa League and they know how to win, it’s now ensuring the League from picks up."
