Solskjaer became United’s manager following the dismissal of José Mourinho and led the side from 2018 to 2021. The former striker guided the team to the 2020/21 Europa League final and secured impressive second and third-place finishes in the Premier League.
The 52 year old faced legendary manager Ancelotti four times in his career, including whilst at United when the Red Devils faced Everton, where the Italian crept too close to him on the touchline.
“I remember one game against Everton," he began. "I was stood there in my technical area. Carlo Ancelotti comes across so he's more or less in my technical area.
“The fourth official says "Carlo you need to get back into your technical area unless you want Ole's job?" And he said "no, no, no, too much pressure. That job is too much pressure".
“You know pressure is a privilege, he's always said that as well, and I felt privileged to be the manager of Man United.
“But of course, you're the face of everyone and everything surrounding Man United.”
Solskjær played a key role in developing young talents, such as Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, and Scott McTominay, while also integrating key signings like Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire.
The Norwegian coach was often mocked at United but is perhaps one of the club’s most successful managers since the deperature of Sir Alex Ferguson. He took a job that is a dream for many but also one with far too much pressure for the likes of Ancelotti and thrived.
