Napoli were beaten at home for the first time since December 2024 on Wednesday night as Chelsea crushed the Italian side in a 4-3 victory thanks to a brace for Pedro.
After scoring in Rosenior’s first Premier League game in charge against Brentford, fans have started to notice a change in the Brazilian, who has been brought to life by the former Hull City manager.
“Today I scored two brilliant goals - the (most) important thing is the three points,” Joao Pedro said after the victory as the media hounded him for a post match interview once he had picked up the UEFA's Player of the Match award.
Rosenior also caught a glimpse of media attention and was asked about the striker, he joked was sick of being brought into his office to discuss his role in the side.
“I think I've had very, very good conversations with him already, probably four in my office,” Rosenior said of Joao Pedro afterwards. “I think he's sick of my office,” he joked.
“I've said to him: ‘If you play with intensity, with your quality, the quality comes out’. The two goals are fantastic but the way he held the ball up for the team, the way he sprinted and started that press, the harder you work, the better you are as a player.”
Chelsea next face West Ham United this weekend and Pedro should be the first name on Rosenior’s team sheet heading into the clash which could fire the Blues into the top four, above Manchester United.
