Gomes scored in the 2-1 win, which came just days after the derby triumph against Aston Villa.
The attacker said afterwards: “It was an unbelievable night, again. Two wins in a row, under the lights with our fans is just unbelievable – amazing, amazing. It was equally as special. I think we did a good game, in a difficult game, because Liverpool is a good team.
“We showed our belief, we showed that we are in a good phase, with good momentum, and we need to keep doing this. The lads are playing very good, and I’m very, very happy to be able to help the team with this game and we need to enjoy it.”
On manager Rob Edwards' tactics, Gomes also said: “We defended very well. We were very compact and didn’t allow a lot of chances to Liverpool.
"Then we got our chances and we scored – I scored, Andre scored, and I’m very happy for him – his first goal, it’s unbelievable. We did an amazing game and achieved the win, which is the most important thing, and we need to enjoy it.”
