The Spain international seethed at the standard of officiating following City's 2-2 draw at Tottenham earlier this season as he spoke in a post match interview.
His fury came after VAR awarded Tottenham's first goal after Dominic Solanke made contact with City defender Marc Guehi before the ball hit the net.
“He's kicked the leg - it's so clear,” Rodri said. “He anticipated Marc and it's a clear foul. But it's not today, it's two or three games in a row and I honestly don't know why.
“I know we won too much and the people don't want us to win, but the referee has to be neutral. For me, it's not fair. It's not fair.”
Rodri was charged for “making comments that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official and/or match officials”
As reported by The Sun, FA regulations say a hearing should be conducted within 10 working days of that response being due, which would have been today.
The report states that it is possible that the outcome of the case could be delayed until next week, meaning the ban would affect the trip to West Ham on March 14th.
If the ban did mean Rodri misses the Hammers clash, it would come as a huge blow to City as the Premier League title race approaches its final weeks with just 10 games remaining.
City face Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night whilst Arsenal clash with Brighton. The gap at the top could be cut to just 2 points if the Gunners lose as both teams aim to snatch another 3 points.
