Marcus Rashford could stay at Manchester United as Michael Carrick plans his side for next season.

Rashford, 28, joined Barça on loan from United last year in an agreement which included an option for Barça to sign the England international this summer for just £26M.

However, despite the low price, Rashford’s high wages produced a huge hurdle for the Spanish side who opted instead to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for over double the price.

Scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists as he helped Barcelona to the La Liga title, Rashford certainly impressed on loan and now, according to The Sun, he may stay with the Red Devils heading into the new season.

The report states that manager Michael Carrick has been in close contact with Rashford, as he keeps in talks over his potential return to the squad in what would be a stunning twist in the transfer saga.

Rashford has not played for Man United since December 2024 after falling out with former manager Ruben Amorim, leading to loan moves with Aston Villa and Barcelona.

Barcelona appear ready to move in a different direction and with Rashford stranded, United are keen to offer him a chance at redemption in the first team as he joins the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in attack.
