Newcastle boss Howe explains Hall substitution

Hall was taken off at halftime, sparking headlines of World Cup injury concerns for England.

But after the 2-1 defeat, Howe insisted the wing-back was substituted due to a tactical change.

Pressed on why Hall had been taken off, Howe simply said: "That was tactical."

Hall was changed for veteran Kieran Trippier, who went to right-back, with Tino Livramento moving to the left-side of the back four.
