Illan Meslier has reportedly completed his medical and signed a deal which seals his summer move to Arsenal.

The 26-year-old who became a free agent at the end of last month, spent six seasons at Elland Road and made a total of 215 appearances in all competitions for the club where he helped the side to two promotions to the Premier League in 2020 and 2025.

Reports claim he will replace Tommy Setford as the club’s third-choice goalkeeper under manager Mikel Arteta who already has David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga in his current setup.

In what is a fast moving deal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on Wednesday morning.

Illan Meslier to Arsenal, here we go! Medical already done and deal sealed with former Leeds United goalkeeper.

“Contract also signed after medical done in London on Tuesday.

“Meslier said yes to #AFC project, as @gunnerblog reported.”

Interestingly, Meslier fell behind Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri in the pecking order at Leeds last season and failed to register a competitive appearance under manager Daniel Farke.

Meslier will join as Arsenal’s second summer signing alongside Piero Hincapie has already joined Arsenal on a permanent basis for £34.5M after a strong loan spell.

TalkSPORT also report that Arrizabalaga is set to leave this summer, making Meslier Arsenal’s second choice goalkeeper who could feature heavily in cup competitions.
