Scotland’s Angus Gunn has emerged as a main transfer target for Manchester United.

Reports from The Sun and Metro claim that the Red Devils are lining up an offer for Scotland’s Angus Gunn who is available on a free transfer after just one year at Nottingham Forest.

This comes as backup goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana are set to leave this summer as manager Michael Carrick clears the deadwood out the squad.

Onana was on loan at Trabzonspor and has now returned to Old Trafford where he is no longer wanted after Senne Lammens stepped up for the side over the past year, being named Premier League Transfer of the Season award for his outstanding debut campaign.

The Sun also report United have also tracked Karl Darlow who is out of contract with top flight rivals Leeds next week. The 35-year-old is 5 years older than Gunn but does have Premier League experience.

Gunn also made just one appearance last season, stuck behind Matz Sels and Stefan Ortega as third-choice at the City Ground which may lead to Carrick pursuing Darlow instead.

Lammens is very unlikely to relinquish the No.1 spot after an impressive debut campaign, but United are clearly keen on bringing in a solid backup goalkeeper who could step up when the Belgian is ruled out or during cup games.
