Despite the interest over the summer, Semenyo penned a new deal to 2030 before the start of the season and he told Sky Sports: "I don't think about it too much. I try to be present as much as I can. You see the news all the time, I see it too, I'm not unconscious, but I try to stay focused.
"I enjoy my football here. If I don't score goals, all that disappears. I try to be present, do my best for the team, score goals and whatever happens in the future happens.

"I wasn't entirely sure at first, but we've continued like a house on fire. I'm glad I decided to stay here, because I'm enjoying every moment."
