Liverpool look set to miss out on a wildcard season-long loan offer to Real Madrid for wonderkid Endrick.

The 20-year-old was sent out on loan to French side Lyon for the second half of last season as he struggled for regular minutes at Real Madrid under Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa.

Endrick caught the eye in his time in Ligue 1, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in his 21 games across all competitions, before heading back to Madrid in June for preseason.

According to The Times, Liverpool have approached Real Madrid to ask about the young forward’s availability, but that was rebuffed by Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho wants to keep Endrick close as a first team option, as he manages Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior's game load at the start of 2026/27, and Liverpool will now look elsewhere.

Real Madrid's call to offload several young players this summer has also solidified Mourinho's position with Gonzalo Garcia heading to Fulham and Franco Mastantuono joining Fiorentina on loan.
