Newcastle’s owners spoke to Alexander Isak at the striker’s home on Monday in an attempt to convince him to stay with the side and fight for the club this season under manager Eddie Howe and his side who were beaten by a late goal from Liverpool’s 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha on Monday night.
Isak has made it clear that he wants nothing but a move to Liverpool and will not feature for The Magpies again after he revealed that promises were broken by the club. Al-Rumayyan met the Swedish international on Monday but it looks like talks have not gone well.
Chief Newcastle United Writer for The Chronicle, Lee Ryder reports that Isak will not budge on his mindset over leaving the club despite there only being a week left before the summer transfer window closes for good.
Newcastle are yet to receive a second bid for Isak from Liverpool whose £110M offer was rejected earlier this month. The Daily Mail report that a new contract would be part of discussions, if Isak committed himself to the club this season but it seems very unlikely that Isak would sign on the dotted line when he is desperate to leave the side.
