Before defeat to Liverpool last night, a delegation - including chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan - spent time at Isak's home on Tyneside.
With the Swede still pushing to join Liverpool this week, Howe said after defeat at St James' Park: "I am not party to the talks that have been happening, so I have no idea where that stands at this second.
"I am not aware of that (crisis talks), I have not been party to talks for a long time now.
"I have been preparing the team, giving all my energy to the players who want to play for Newcastle. And I think that is where my energy is best put at the moment.
"We want clarity, we want to move forward, we want the narrative to change."
Howe added: "There is no intentional dig to Alex but naturally I want players that are committed to Newcastle.
"That is one of the most important qualities when you put out a team on the pitch that they show it, it's no dig to anybody, any manager will feel the same way."
