Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has spoken to the media as he prepares to take on Bournemouth this weekend.

Brighton recorded a 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the corresponding match and have not been beaten at home by the Cherries since April 2019.

Mitoma's 1000th game

The Seagulls enter the game in 11th place, and a win could see them  climb into 9th place. Hurzeler will be hoping to jump up the table in what is Kaoru Mitoma's 100th Premier League game.

"I experienced it when we had a pre-season in Tokyo how popular Mitoma is.

"We are very pleased that he's playing for us, he didn't have an easy first part of the season with injury, but now he's getting back in shape. He seems to be ready and hopefully will have a better second half of the season."

Every game is a final

There are only three points between 11th-placed Brighton and 15th-placed Bournemouth, and Hurzeler believes every game should be treated like a make-or-break game.

"We should go game to game and don't look too much ahead. In the Premier League this season, anything is possible and you have to see every game as a final.

"We have to go on Monday into this game and it will be a big challenge and a big opportunity for us. This Premier League season is very competitive and unpredictable."

On Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola: "He was an important player for Bournemouth, he scored a lot of goals but they're always capable of replacing good players.

"You need to find solutions, it's in the nature you might lose the best players. I'm sure Andoni Iraola will find good solution, he's a great coach."

Brighton have only lost one of their last six matches in all competitions and come up against a Bournemouth side who have now lost Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City in the past few weeks. Each side are desperate for 3 points as they aim to climb to the top half of the table in what should be an intense clash.
