Tottenham's set-piece specialist is part of Potter's backroom team with Sweden.
He said of the former Brighton and Chelsea manager: "It's an incredible pride. I really grew up with the national team as the reference for the highest level of football. WC 94, EC 92 and WC 90 are by far my strongest first memories from football. It has always been the dream.
"First to reach the national team as a player, but then you noticed that you weren't good enough for it. Then I haven't thought about it as my career goes by so quickly, but when the question came, it was: wow, and what a chance to experience it."
On Tottenham allowing to take up the role, he also told Fotbollskanalen: "No there were absolutely discussions to try to understand the impact it has on me, on the process and that it was important to ensure that we really genuinely believe that I can do my job 100 percent there, even though I'm losing two respites now, one in November and one in March.
"We took it back and forth, but pretty quickly we got along. They trust me and I am very grateful for that."
