Despite an impressive performance in what was an important 1-0 victory against Newcastle United over the weekend, Ugarte is high on United’s transfer list as they seek to offload the Uruguyan.
Ugarte, who joined the English club from Paris Saint-Germain last season for €50M has failed to live up to expectations and has rarely featured under manager Ruben Amorim since he replace Erik ten Hag.
According to Fotomac and various reports in Turkey, Galatasaray are ready to steal away Ugarte as part of a loan deal which would include an option to but the playmaker for just £22M.
Reports state that Lyon and Napoli are also interested, with the Italians being keen on United stars after finding success in Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund.
Ugarte has featured in only 12 competitive matches without a goal contribution, and Amorim is said to be ready to accept an offer from Galatasaray if an offer does come in.
Ugarte’s performance against the Magpies received huge praise including from teammates, Bruno Fernandes called it a “top performance” while, on Ugarte’s own Instagram post.
Lisandro Martinez commented “this is the one I know” and Harry Maguire said “brilliant tonight mate”.
