Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has spoken to the media about tactics at the club and how he is settling in.

Cunha and United teammate Casemiro both registered assists as the South Americans defeated South Korea 5-0 in an international friendly this week in what is a good omen for United heading into their clash against Liverpool this Sunday.

United don't know how they will play

The 26-year-old is yet to register a goal or an assist for his new club under manager Ruben Amorim who snatched him up from Wolves this summer.  Speaking to Globo, he revealed that although he is loving life at United, there are some tactical issues.

"I've been very happy to be here for a while, especially now with Ancelotti. We talk about the games at Manchester, the positioning between the lines and without a doubt, we have the freedom to be ourselves and perform at our best on the pitch.

"Even though we don't know how we'll play the next game in terms of formation, everyone feels great. Training is going really well. Even though it may seem like he's just picking players for the same position, Ancelotti understands how to get the best out of everyone on the pitch.

“It's something that makes me very happy and excited to come and perform at my best.”

High expectations

Cunha has shone for Brazil on this international break, and Amorim will hope he can drag those performances over to Anfield on Sunday in what is a huge test. He opened up more on his lack of goals and the expectations placed on him.

"I try as hard as possible to adapt and learn," he said. "It's only been two months, but it feels like I've been at the club for a long time. Given the current situation and the fact that I have to deliver results as quickly as possible because I'm a new signing.

"I think that because I play for Manchester United and people follow me more on the pitch, they understand better how I play. I think it's part of having that weight, which is a privilege.

"It's a weight that came after the Tokyo Olympics. And if it means having that weight and becoming a champion, I think it's worth putting up with a little bit of confusion about where Matheus plays.
