Federico Chiesa is aiming for a move back to Italy as Liverpool prepare to bid for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo.

Chiesa continues to find himself on the bench for Liverpool and has only been handed two starts in the Carabao Cup this season under manager Arne Slot despite the club’s disappointing form as of late.

The Italian star signed for Liverpool from Juventus in what appeared to be a bargain deal back in the summer of 2024 but has been let down by Slot who many feel has failed to see his qualities in the side.

Now, according to reports in Italy the winger is aiming for a move back to the Serie A where the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma are all ready to lauch a bid for the winger who is still in his prime.

Semenyo’s reported £65m release clause is said to interest Liverpool, leading to reports stating that Slot will replace Chiesa with the Cherries star, who has vast Premier League experience.

Semenyo pushes Chiesa out

Slot's side face competition from rivals Manchester United and Manchester City but journalist Florian Plettenburg reported earlier this week that Liverpool are leading the race which only pushes Chiesa out of the side even further.

“Understand Liverpool are seriously working on Antoine #Semenyo for the winter window, and concrete talks have already taken place. #LFC are fully aware of his release clause of around €70 million.

“Liverpool want him, but there is heavy competition, with other top English sides involved. Bayern are currently not in the race.

“The 25 y/o versatile winger is under contract with Bournemouth until 2030.”

Semenyo has already bagged six goals and recorded three assists in 11 outings this season, and could be key to turning Liverpool’s season around.
