The experienced forward joined the Bees on a one-year deal following his departure from West Ham United, bringing valuable Premier League experience to Keith Andrews’ squad.
Wilson is excited by the prospect of competing alongside and supporting Thiago, who enjoyed an impressive campaign with 20 Premier League goals last season.
The 34-year-old also expressed confidence that Brentford’s attacking style of play will suit his strengths and help him make an impact.
“It’s nice, it’s amazing, I’m grateful for the opportunity,” Wilson told Brentford website.
“I’m delighted to be here and joining as part of the family.
“I spoke with the manager. We had a good conversation and he was very enthusiastic. He told me about his ambition for the club and what his ambitions and desires are, and I felt like I could add quality to that.
“Having watched and played against Brentford many times, I liked the feel and togetherness of the squad. I thought I could see myself being a part of it.
“They were good games and Brentford played really well. I liked the way that the midfielders played and everybody was playing forward early. As a striker, you know you’re going to get many opportunities, which is fantastic.”
