Following an iconic win against Mexico last week, the Brentford midfielder and former Liverpool captain Henderson who was an unused substitute was rushed to hospital.
Henderson suffered the injury after landing awkwardly as he hopped over the advertising hoardings, crushing his arm and wrist in the process as he collapsed in a heap on the ground.
Despite this, the 36 year old is set to remain with the squad for the rest of the tournament as he spoke on social media for the first time following what was a nightmarish moment for the veteran.
"A night to remember that's for sure! What an incredible performance against all the different challenges," Henderson wrote on Instagram. "So proud to be a part of this special team (emojis). Thanks for all the support, another big one Saturday."
Teammate Marc Guehi told the FA's Lions' Den show:
"Hendo's good, man. Hendo's in a better place than he was yesterday, and it was obviously scary for him and his family and for everyone else, but we're just glad that he's on the road to speedy recovery."
Henderson equalled a record set by Bobby Charlton, who appeared from 1958 to 1970 as he appeared as his 4th World Cup for England this summer.
Reports suggest he may need to undergo surgery, ruling him out of the World Cup ahead of the Quarter Final clash against Norway this weekend in what would be a devastating blow.
