Alex Scott's rise to Premier League stardom could see Bournemouth lose another one of their prized assets.

The Cherries reluctantly cashed in on Antoine Semenyo in January, as the Ghanaian joined Manchester City, while Marcos Senesi is departing on a free transfer to join Tottenham Hotspur

Scott is one of several at the Vitality Stadium who could leave this summer, but Bournemouth are determined to keep the 22-year-old, or at least make it harder for clubs to sign him.

Bournemouth are keen to tie down the Englishman to a new contract after an excellent season, with his current deal expiring in 2028. According to The Athletic, any improved terms offered would include a release clause, likely to be around £75 million.

That protects the South Coast club from losing him for a potentially lower price than they wanted, and gives his agent no reason to complain when discussing his future.

Manchester United are interested in Scott, and so are several other Premier League clubs, with Andoni Iraola's move to Liverpool perhaps opening the door for him to reunite with the Spaniard.

Whatever happens this summer, Bournemouth negotiating a release clause in his contract is just another savvy piece of business conducted by the hierarchy.
