United have already agreed a deal to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson but are still planning a midfield rebuild after losing Casemiro this summer.
The same can be said for Chelsea, a side who are under major reconstruction under new manager Xabi Alonso who will be keen to develop the side into title challengers once again.
Both sides, as well as Manchester City, are said to be interested in Scott this summer who despite being just 22 years old, is valued at £88M.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs gave an update on the young midfielder this week, revealing that the Cherries have zero plans to sell.
“Bournemouth have been clear with Alex Scott that they don’t wish to sell. Understand a new contract was offered in March/April and talks set to continue this summer.
“Bournemouth content whether Scott signs a new contract, likely with a release clause, or continues on the existing one.
“Manchester United expected to explore a move. Scott also on Arsenal’s radar. Andrea Berta already made an approach and was told Bournemouth don’t want to sell.
“Scott also appreciated by Manchester City and Chelsea. Clubs set to test Bournemouth’s resolve in the coming days.”
Bournemouth will play in the Europa League next season and Scott may be convinced to stay if the club can guarantee him that they will challenge for the Champions League next season as contract talks begin.
