Fulham centre-back Joachim Andersen has reacted to Denmark's shocking loss to Scotland.

Scotland's last gasp 4-2 win against Denmark secured the side's automatic qualification to the 2026 World Cup in North America for the first time since 1998.

Andersen delivered an extraordinary and emotional assessment of Denmark’s late collapse in Glasgow in what was a devastating defeat for a side who suffered two extra time goals.

"I'm incredibly sad," said Andersen. "The results we've delivered in the last two games are laughable. I'm just disappointed. I'm disappointed. I think we played a good game.

"They score a freak goal. He'll never score a goal like that again in his career. Of course, it's difficult when we get the red card," he added.

"And then we make such stupid mistakes. That should never happen. I don't know what to say. It's just disappointing and f*****g ridiculous."

Denmark now face a play-off to join Scotland in North America as manager Brian Riemer’s job hangs by a thread. If the side collapse in the play-offs, he will almost certainly be sacked in what has been a dire qualifying campaign.

One of Denmark's largest newspapers, Ekstra Bladet, did not hold back with their headline following the loss. It read: “Total Danish humiliation." VG added: "It's so insane that it can't be described in words."
