Stade Rennais have secured the future of star striker Esteban Lepaul after extending his contract until 2030.

The 26-year-old forward, who joined Rennes from Angers last summer, was previously tied to the club until 2029 but has now committed to an additional year in Brittany.

Lepaul enjoyed a sensational 2025-26 campaign, finishing as Ligue 1's top scorer with 21 goals, including 20 for Rennes and one for Angers before his transfer. The Auxerre-born striker was a key figure for Les Rouge et Noir, starting 31 of his 32 league appearances while also contributing five assists.

His outstanding performances attracted interest from several major European clubs, with Atlético Madrid among those reportedly monitoring his situation. However, Lepaul has consistently expressed his desire to remain at Rennes and continue his development with the club.

The new deal ensures the prolific forward will stay put as Rennes prepare for European competition next season.
