The transfer was confirmed by Vitoria’s acting vice-president and presidential candidate Rui Borges during an appearance on TVI V+.
Strasbourg are reportedly paying around €10 million, excluding bonuses, for the 20-year-old midfielder, who had two years remaining on his contract.
A product of Vitoria’s academy, Sousa made his senior debut in September 2025 and quickly established himself as a regular under Gil Lameiras.
The Portugal Under-21 international started 15 of his 28 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and one assist while helping Vitoria secure Primeira Liga survival and win the League Cup.
His arrival could help fill the void if Valentín Barco departs Strasbourg later this summer
