The Spanish Federation (RFEF) accused Barca of failing to inform them that the player would undergo a specialist examination for groin pain on Monday morning. Barcelona, however, claims to have already notified the club on Sunday.

Speaking on El Chiringuito last night, host Josep Pedrerol revealed: "They tell me Lamine Yamal was afraid. Afraid of getting injured again.

"His friends wrote to him: 'If you go to the national team, be careful, you might get worse.' He started receiving messages like this and eventually confided to a member of Barça: 'I'm afraid of going to the national team'."

At that point, according to the journalist, the club contacted a Belgian doctor, known for having worked with PSG and several NBA players, who traveled to Barcelona on Monday to examine the forward.

The exam confirmed the need for treatment lasting approximately seven to ten days.
