In a statement on Wednesday afternoon, Real emphasised that "after months of discussions in the interests of European football, UEFA, the European Football Clubs (EFC), and Real Madrid CF have reached an agreement in principle in the interests of European football."
Al-Khelaïfi , president of PSG and the EFC, also declared in reaction: "I want to thank all the parties involved in this historic agreement, from UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, an exceptionally intelligent and humble executive, to Florentino Pérez, an elegant, intelligent man, a visionary who constantly seeks to improve things."
Al-Khelaïfi clarified: "If anyone thinks they've lost, they're very wrong. The important thing is that everyone has gained: UEFA, Real Madrid, and the EFC. No one loses. Football triumphs, and that's the goal of the fans."
