Rohl will be taking over after Russell Martin's disastrous 123-day spell in charge which ended after 17 games on October 5th much to the relief of Rangers fans who were desperate to see him go.
Rohl can't wait to get started
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss, who had initially withdrawn from the race, was announced as manager on Monday afternoon. He spoke to the club website about the appointment, which he says is a huge honour.
"It is a huge privilege at an incredible club, recognised around the world," said the 36-year-old German.
"I know it has been a difficult start to the season, but there is still so much to play for.
"The expectations here are clear. The fans want to see results now - my mentality and experience is to think in exactly the same way.
"We have no time to waste, we start straight away. I respect that trust is earned and understand we have to give the supporters confidence in what we are doing by showing it on the pitch from the start."
Rohl finished 12th in the Championship with Wednesday in his one full season in charge in what was a very impressive achievement considering the club's constant battle and strains behind the scenes.
Delighted to bring Rohl in
Chairman Andrew Cavenagh commented on how Rohl was the right man for the job and admits he is very happy to bring him in.
"We’re very pleased to welcome Danny to Rangers, an ambitious coach who shares the club’s hunger for progress and success. His experience at elite level, in high pressure environments, makes him a strong fit for what we expect here.
“We know the past few months have been challenging, but our focus has always been on getting the right person, who is ready to immediately embrace this football club and the demands that come with it.
"Danny impressed us with his vision, his character, and his understanding of what Rangers stands for. We believe he can help restore pride, momentum, and ultimately success."
