Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has spoken on the club's drive as they aim to lift silverware this season.

Arsenal beat Olympiacos 2-0 on Wednesday night as they cruised to their second Champions League victory of the new campaign. Odegaard came back into the starting line-up after struggling with a shoulder injury and was the star man for The Gunners on the night.

Odegaard had a hand in both goals, scored by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka as he continues to shine under manager Mikel Arteta who is desperate to lift silverware in what is his sixth year in charge of the side.

Arteta has lifted the FA Cup and Community Shield in his time at the club which is little in comparison to the likes of Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and Arne Slot at Liverpool.

Odegaard, however, says belief is high at the moment as the side aim for silverware once more this season.

“You can see how hungry everyone is in training by how much we want it. Hopefully it’s going to be our year”.

“We’ve used everything that’s happened to us in a good way”.

Odegaard was deservedly named man of the match on Wednesday and he will be the player to lead his side to a trophy if Arsenal have the strength to do so.
