Liverpool have now entered negotiations with Frankfurt over Hugo Ekitike in what is a very fast moving deal this summer.

Liverpool appear to be focusing on a deal for Ekitike after being told by Newcastle United that striker Alexander Isak is not for sale this summer. The Magpies have had an opening bid of £65M rejected for the 23-year-old whose attention looks to be focused on Liverpool who are willing to match Frankfurt’s asking price.

This is according to journalist David Ornstein who reports that Ekitike wants to join Liverpool this summer as Newcastle watch on.

“Liverpool advancing in talks to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. Negotiations for 23yo #SGE forward progressing on package worth in excess of €80m. France youth int’l wants #LFC so personals no issue.”

The Frenchman scored 22 goals in 48 games across all competitions last season for Frankfurt as he helped them qualify for the Champions League. He is regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world at the moment and the Reds clearly see his sheer quality as something that can help them challenge for the title once more.

The 23-year-old has all the qualities you would want in a centre-forward, and he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world with the Premier League champions. Manager Arne Slot has already brought in Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen and if he can keep Luis Diaz this summer the club will have one of the best attacks in world football.
