Former Liverpool keeper Karius linked with move to Schalke

The shot-stopper spent time at Newcastle United last season but did not sign a long-term deal.

Now German reports state that he may get to head to Schalke for the rest of this season.Newcastle had been interested in holding onto Karius, but his partner was said to prefer living elsewhere.

The issue for Karius is that Schalke are in the second division at present, not the Bundesliga.
