Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Lucas Vazquez has revisited leaving Real Madrid over the summer.

Vazquez admits he was reluctant to leave Rea, but now believes it was the right decision.

He told Cadena Cope: "There was interest from several teams, but I was clear that I wanted to continue competing at the elite level. This opportunity is good for all aspects of my life.

"I'll probably finish my career outside of Spain; I don't see myself going back. Right now, I'm doing very well and eager to keep playing.

"I miss my teammates, the club's employees... above all, the people. I've been lucky enough to be able to enjoy Real Madrid a lot. I didn't want to leave, but I think it was a good change for me."
