Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye have been Liverpool’s targets for several weeks, with the Reds making progress on deals for both wingers who are keen on the switch to Merseyside.
Liverpool are leading the race and are set to complete 2-3 deals before the window slams shut according to reports.
A deal for Barcola looked almost certain before Arsenal swooped in this week and had made contact with Barcola’s camp as they seek to steal him away from Liverpool’s grasp.
Speaking with talkSPORT Bet slots site, McCoist revealed that Barcola could be huge for Liverpool as he struggles for a place at PSG.
“Barcola to Liverpool would be massive. He's a top player, and of course, PSG has just signed Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco as well.
“They've obviously got Doué and Dembélé. That front three they had, dear me, just absolutely ridiculous. It doesn't look as though Barcola is a favoured starter ahead of Kvaratskhelia, Doué and Dembélé. They’ve obviously just got Ferran Torres to come in there as well. So if you're Barcola, you're thinking opportunities might be a little bit slimmer, or you just stay, roll your sleeves up, and fight.
“I'm not sure. His body language certainly looked as though he was, at best, disappointed the other night, so it might be a case of watch this space.”
Liverpool have signed three players so far this summer, with Ronald Araujo joining on loan following the arrivals of Jeremy Jacquet and Víctor Munoz. Barcola could become thier fourth, if Arsenal doesn't get there first.
